More model informationThe 3D model was based on a watercolor by Rudolf von Alt from 1837, showing the Heidentor from the west, around the time of the grain harvest. The building stands on a conical mound of rubble. The large lintel block can be seen directly behind the south-western pillar. In addition, a watercolor by Jakob von Alt (father of Rudolf von Alt) was used as a template for the design of the eastern side of the view.
The 3D model is part of the campaign “Twin it! - 3D for Europe’s culture”.
