The hound of Alcibiades

This is a model of one of the pair of hounds that flank the driveway of the Rothschild’s Ascott House property (http://www.ascottestate.co.uk/) near Leighton Buzzard (or Wing), Bedfordshire. They have a fabulous cricket ground. There appears to be little online about these sculptures that I could find.

Compare this model to the Jennings Dog, which is within the British Museum collection and also scanned by me. You can download both of these and print them for comparison.
