Vaterland 1 is a late medieval clinker-built boat, that was found in the Vaterland area in Oslo city centre in 2011. Most parts of the boat were made from oak and were dated to the early 16th century (1502-1505) using dendrochronology (Dendro.dk report 12: 2011). Every second frame in the hull was made from pine and dated to 1584 (Dendroøkologen 72/2016). Further research shows that the boat was probably rebuilt almost 80 years after it was first constructed and that the pine frames are secondary. All the timber is from the southern part of Norway. The excavated boat parts were documented using a FARO digitizer and Rhino 3D software. The model is scaled 1:5 and is build using 3D printed pieces in combination with drawings on paper glued on cardboard. The model is made by Lars Stålegård. Originally the boat has been almost 8 meters long and 3 meters wide.
