The Look (concept by Avogado6)

Finished this small piece based on an illustration by the Japanese artist Avogado6, who does amazing emotional / metaphysical work. I loved this one because of the intensity of the look that passes between the two of them.

I chose to color the flip side of the model differently so that turning it around is a bit of a surprise. I found it surprisingly challenging to find a color palette that I was satifisfied with, mainly because I wanted to maintain the intergrity of the male character’s appearance, which features prominently in Avogado6’s work.
