The Motherland Calls

The Motherland Calls (lit. ‘Homeland-Mother Is Calling!’) is the compositional centre of the monument-ensemble “Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia.

The statue is an allegorical image of the Motherland calling its sons to battle with the enemy.

The total height of the sculpture is 85 meters (the sword is 33 meters long).

*To mark the 75th anniversary of the victory In World War II, the sculpture was overhauled, which, unfortunately, was not completed by the time this model was created. I’ll have to redo it later =)
