Area of outcrop found S of The Rigg, SW of Lartington, County Durham.
This section is one of many areas of the same exposure of outcrop adorned with carvings, usually separated by either fissures or turf coverage. At the time of initial NADRAP recording in 2006, this section was thought to be a new discovery and was referenced ‘Lartington, The Rigg 9’ on ERA in 2008. It may cross reference to Rig4 / 5 in Paul & Barbara Brown’s 2008 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’.
