A one-day project. I’ve had this idea for a mournful hand clasping a rose for a while, but it never felt complete. Adding the pendant and chain I felt really added the needed story to really bring the piece together.
Hand model was from MakeHuman, all else I modelled in Blender. Textures were done in Substance Painter, then brought back into Blender 2.79 for rendering using the Principled BSDF for most surfaces, except the topaz crystal heart, which was done with my own custom absorption glass shader.
