The "Slovene" Door

The main gate of the Ljubljana Cathedral. One of two bronze sculptured doors cast in 1996 and designed by the sculptor Tone Demšar, created for the visit of Pope John Paul II. The front door, now named the Slovene Door, bears a depiction of Slovene history to commemorate the 1250th anniversary of Christianity in Slovenia.
