Whenever we try to do something meaningful, we meet resistance. Often the greatest resistance comes from within. This sculpture is a metaphor for my understanding of the psychological struggle that pits the conscious Ego against the personal unconscious, which are the events and experiences of the past that formed the soul, and that now resist any change. The theories of Carl Jung - particularly his elucidation of the Archetypes - are the underlying inspiration for the metaphor.

What ACEs look like.

ACES = adverse childhood experiences, and the impact is well documented. https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/childabuseandneglect/acestudy/
