"The Tree of Life" by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky

There is a unique composition in the Chernihiv Museum-Reserve of Mykhailo Kotsiubinsky. We are talking about a huge four-sided wooden column dedicated to the work of the famous writer.

The composition is 10.5 m high and runs through all three floors of the museum.

It was made almost 40 years ago by Valentyn Zadorozhny, a monumentalist artist and Honored Artist of Ukraine. On the column, he depicted the heroes of Kotsyubynskyi’s works in his style of wood carving.

This work of art was entered into the Book of Records of Ukraine as the largest monumental and spatial composition made of wood, dedicated to the work of Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi.
