BACHELORS Acre is an ideal place for a dog walker to take a rest.
But the popular open space in the heart of Windsor now has the Royal seal of approval. A statue entitled the Windsor Lady has been unveiled there, showing the Queen comfortably seated surrounded by her corgis.
The statue is the work of Maidenhead-based sculptress Lydia Karpinska. It stands on a plinth created by the Royal Borough’s landscape officer Jonathan Howe. It has been there some time but was officially unveiled on Thursday last week.
The Royal Borough’s mayor Cllr Richard Kellaway and mayoress Mary-Lou Kellaway joined Ms Karpinska to unveil the work on Thursday, January 15.
They had help from some real live corgis who came down specially with their owners on invitation from Ms Karpinska.
