More model informationThermal trauma
The features and overall pattern of any traumatic injury depend on how the bone responds to different forces. Therefore, there are 4 principal types of skeletal traumas based on the mechanism and type of force that caused the trauma: sharp force trauma, blunt force trauma, thermal trauma, and gunshot trauma. This model presents the color changes in bones obtained from a fresh human cadaver exposed to different temperatures for 30 minutes (left side) and 60 minutes (right side). The specimens were defleshed and preserved at 4°C until analysis.
