More model informationThis migmatite is from one of the highest temperature parts of the Tia Complex of the southern New England Orogen. Peak metamorphic conditions were approximately 550°C at 3.5 kilobars. The main fabric (form surface) defining later fold structures is the primary schistosity (S1). F1 folds are small scale isoclinal folds that are that are discernible in this model. F2 folds are not well developed in this section of the outcrop. F3 folds have a steep north-south axial plane associated with a spaced secondary cleavage (S3). A hand specimen 3D model from this outcrop is available here.
The compass (somewhat distorted) points north as does the initial viewpoint - it is about 11 cm long.
