Developed upon Lord Vader’s request, The TIE/Eta-2 was supposedly the Galactic Empire’s solution for a updated standard starfighter, after the rejection of the TIE/Advanced x1. The Interceptor was designed by Vader himself, and proved to be deadly in combat. The Interceptor was part of the TIE/Wing project, which saw the creation of dozens of TIE designs, all using the same detachable wing format. The TIE/Eta-2 never saw full serive as each unit cost over 2 billlion credits.
