The Wind in the Willows was a 1983 film by Cosgrove Hall Films, based on Kenneth Grahame’s children’s classic. The book was adapted by Rosemary Anne Sisson who wrote the script. The film was successful, leading to a television series which aired on Thames Television between 1984-1990.

Toad, the gregarious trouble-maker and hero of the film and series was voiced by Sir David Jason. The original head was sculpted by Brian Cosgrove and was cast in foam latex by a team of model-makers led by Peter Saunders.
