More model informationThe Toowong War Memorial is composed of brown Helidon freestone and was built to commemorate those men of the district who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.
Twelve stone pillars surround the monument and the whole of the work was carried out by Andrew Petrie. The money for the memorial was raised chiefly by the Memorial Committee and the memorial was unveiled on the 2nd July 1922.
