ZN217 is a human protein which in high levels, exacerbates the symptoms of breast cancer (Vendrell et al. 2012). The protein can interact with DNA in the nucleus where it may play a role in repressing the expression of certain genes (Vandevenne et al. 2013).

This model visualises the structure of a segment of ZN217 (residues 467-523) complexed with DNA as solved by Vandevenne et al. (2013). This segment includes two zinc finger domains. In this visualisation, ZN217 is represented using ribbon diagrams with select amino acid side chains being shown. DNA is represented using a cartoon representation of the sugar-phosphate backbone with select DNA bases being shown.
