More model informationDescription: This is a 3D laser surface scan of part of the left side of the lower jaw with 5 cheek teeth of Toxodon. This was collected in 1832 by Darwin. It is between 126,000 and 11,700 years old. This has been scanned as part of the Museum’s Darwin Fossil Mammals digitisation project. Find out more at www.nhm.ac.uk/darwinsfossils.
Comments: When describing this jaw, Owen was unsure whether to allocate to the same species as the type skull.
