Toxodon platensis - fragment of lower jaw3D Model
Description: This is a 3D laser surface scan of a fragment of lower jaw including a fragment of enamel from the last molar tooth from Toxodon platensis. It is between 126,000 and 11,700 years old. This has been scanned as part of the Museum’s Darwin Fossil Mammals digitisation project. Visit www.nhm.ac.uk/darwinsfossils to find out more.
Comments: This has been associated with the other Darwin specimens in the collection since at least 1884 and is probably part of Darwin’s collection. This is probably from the same tooth as NHMUK PV M 102046b.
Specimen number: NHMUK PV M 102046a
