This is not as much as a complete model as just something to showcase the tree bark texture. Yesterday evening I went through a Yt tutorial about how to make high poly modell with sculpt in Blender. With multires modifier. The process was basically that you take a low poly model, add multiresolution modified, and then sculpt details to it, then export the high poly model, and a low poly model, then bake the details from the high poly to the low poly.
This is a process I wanted to learn for a long time, and I think got the hang of it more or less. There’s still a learning curve, but it was not hard, and that substance painter was making the wood texture procedurally with masks and generators, made the texture part really easy. It is using the height details from the high poly to determine where to put cavity and highlight. I’m not too happy with the highlight part, but this was my first output from Pubstance Painter that I was intended to learn.
