More model informationTresness stalled cairn is an early Neolithic (c.5500 year old) tomb located on Sanday, Orkney. This monument is being eroded by the sea and we are excavating it to recover artefacts and understand its construction before it is lost.
We have now removed all of the Bronze Age cairn (see https://skfb.ly/opABA) and this models shows the Neolithic monument. The Bronze Age cairn truncated the Neolithic tomb, stripping its original surface and leaving it without a roof, but this allow us to see how the Neolithic monument was built.
