This site is located 180 metres north-east of the main Trial wreck site.

In May 2021, the WA Museum travelled to the Montebello Islands and Trial Rocks, as part of the Disney+ ‘Shipwreck Hunters Australia’ documentary series, in conjunction with Terra Australis Productions and VAM Media. The search of this area (TR03) found four additional cannon (C8-C11).

The WA Museum identified TR03 as an area for further inspection based on findings from an aerial magnetometer survey flown in March 2021.
