Triceratops prorsus is a well-known species of ceratopsid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago. Characterized by its distinctive three facial horns and large bony frill at the back of its head, Triceratops prorsus is one of the largest horned dinosaurs, reaching lengths of up to 9 meters. This herbivorous dinosaur inhabited North America, where it likely grazed on low-lying vegetation. Fossils of Triceratops have provided valuable insights into dinosaur behavior, social structures, and their interactions with contemporary species, including predators like Tyrannosaurus rex.
