This is an example from the tutorial showing the input and outputs of the process. The input is the mesh. The output is the bars, bolts and labels. All the bolt labels are upside down for some reason. I’ll go through and fix this later. It should be an easy fix. Read the tutorial on the codes to understand what the labels mean and then you can walk through the assembly process. The assembly codes are generated automatically, but we’ll be able to edit them manually soon. The computer does a good job 90% of the time. I haven’t checked this assembly pattern so I don’t know if it’s building from the top down or bottom up. I just threw this one together really fast.

If you are a 3D designer and you want to design these structures, email me at brian.korsedal@gmail.com. I’ll send you the tutorial PDF. We’ll be doing these as 3D prints for now but we have previous examples made with steel tubes which are 4 stories tall and 80 ft in diameter.
