Twilight Tarn Hut was built in the Mt Field National Park (Tasmania) over the summers of 1926-27 by members of the Ski Club od Tasmania. Timbers for the frame and external cladding were cut and split by hand on site. All other materials were carried into the remote location by walkers and pack horses. The hut is currently managed by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.
The hut has been very lucky to survive a number of wildfires in the region, and this 3d record was made with this in mind. Also to record its current condition prior to a program of structural repairs and maintenance, including graffiti removal, which will hopefully be undertaken in the next couple of years.
The tight interior spaces of the model can be hard to access. Use the annotation arrows in the view window for a guided tour.
