**studio description: ** The design studio was concerned with digitally indexing the landscape to design and explore formal possibilities of the ‘unReal ground’.
It was run as a semi-intensive upper pool studio in Landscape Architecture at RMIT, in Melbourne.
The studio intent was to actively explore the use of digital modelling methods to measure, qualify, quantify, spatialise, and form, an adaptive landscape. The idea of the landscape as a complex choreography of interrelated functional parts that require precision, location and purpose was to be focused on to generate the ‘thickened’ design propositions for a remediated topography of a coal mine.
