Wet docks were where ships were laid up at anchor and loaded or unloaded. Dry docks, which were far smaller, took individual ships for repairing. In addition, the river was lined with innumerable warehouses, piers, jetties and dolphins (mooring points). The various docks tended to specialise in different forms of produce.
This scene is a spitual relation to a former piece named - “On-Board, an uncomfortable life for me…” It focuses on similar assets that have now been bought into the light. Also, this set piece is focused on composition of objects and beliveablitiy of textures and world layout within this chosen context.
