USS Monitor's Untreated SconceYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
USS Monitor sank 31 December 1862. This artifact was recovered from the shipwreck site in 2002. The object is still untreated, as can be seen by the ocean incrustation covering its surface. This sconce, and others like it, would have lined the officer’s cabins, holding whale oil lamps to light the space. This is not the only sconce housed in our collection. Stay tuned for a conserved example of this type!
