The USS New Jersey is an Iowa-class battleship built by the US Navy during WW2, continuing service up until the early 1990s. The Iowa class was the biggest and last class of battleships built by the US, since aircraft carriers proved to be more effective in naval combat during the second half of the war. Of the six planned units only four were finished: Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri and Wisconsin. The class featured a very high speed for their size, fairly heavy armament, decent armour and very good AA-weaponry. In her carreer she saw service in Korea, Vietnam and the cold war, recieving several refits which changed her capabilities and look drastically. New Jersey was reactivated several times during her carreer, serving up until she was established as a museum in 2001.
