Brontotheriidae is a family of extinct Perissodacty, or odd-toed hoofed mammal, that lived around 56 million years ago. These mammals closely resembled rhinoceroses and could reach weights up to 2 tons and heights up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft). Brontothere molars have a distinctive W-shape on the occlusal (chewing) surface of the tooth. These are some teeth of the animal (left C-M3).
