UWF11 Edentulous Mandible 3D Model
Edentulous refers to the absence of teeth in an individual. This may occur for several reasons including caries, infection, or aging. It should be noted that tooth wear is only considered a pathology when it is so extreme that the associated bone is negatively affected. In this example, antemortem tooth loss is present and characterized by the reabsorption of alveolar bone. Additionally, the mental foramen shifted due to remodeling.
