Velociraptor

Velociraptor was a small but deadly theropod dinosaur that lived around 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period. Measuring about 6.5 feet (2 meters) long and weighing around 30 pounds (15 kilograms), it was built for speed and agility. Unlike its movie portrayal, Velociraptor was feathered and more bird-like, with a long curved claw on each foot used for slashing prey.

Fossils discovered in Mongolia show it may have hunted in packs and engaged in fierce combat—even one famous fossil was found locked in battle with a Protoceratops. Its intelligence, speed, and deadly claws made Velociraptor one of the most efficient and iconic predators of its time.
