As the Clone Wars continued into its fourth year, the Republic began to refocus their efforts in ship building on protection and survivability, as well as standardizing as many systems as possible across the multiple classes of capital ships in service in order to cut the ever increasing costs of conflict.

These changes and standardization saw a vast improvement in the survivability and service lifetime of the Venator-class Star Destroyer thanks to increased armor and more efficient engine designs. Additionally, the bespoke dual medium turbolasers seen in the original iteration of the Venator were replaced by an additional pair of DBY-827 Heavy Turbolaser Turrets, making maintenance and replacement much easier than on previous models. - Arvis
