Venetian Infantry Sidesword

A Venetian sword of the 15th century with perforated swept hilt with two side bars and a diamond pommel. The level of hand protection is not greatly different to a late Medieval sword with only a crossbar but it marks the beginning of complex hilts which finally lead to rapiers and (perhaps) Schiavonas.
