Located in Alise Sainte Reine, France, on mont Auxois, this statue of Vercingétorix is standing right on the supposed place of the siege of Alesia, where he fought Julius Caesar. As a unifier of the gauls in rebellion against Julius Caesar, Vercingétorix is a strong symbol of resistance in the french history.
Even if 2000 years separate this era from ours, celtic heritage is still partially present in french and west european culture. Although Gaul was defeated by Rome, his people and traditions did not die.
This photogrammetry was made using 500 pics with my GH5 and 500 pics from my mavic pro. Thanks to “perfect” cloudy weather during my week end there, I was able to shoot in good lighting conditions.
Many thanks to Keith O’ Sullivan for allowing me to use his great creation in this project : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAJyKlzDVSk
