Vértebra toráxica TXII/Thoracic Vertebra TXII

Duocécima vértebra toráxica, con corte en el plano sagital. Se distingue de las demás vértebras por tener una fosa costal completa en el cuerpo vertebral y poseer un proceso articular inferior con la carilla articulares cilíndricas y convexas, orientadas hacia los lados. Además no presentan fosa costal en el proceso transverso y el proceso espinoso es corto y cuadrado, parecido al de las vértebras lumbares. Esta muestra fue obtenida del laboratorio de anatomía humana de la Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia.

Twelfth thoracic vertebra, with cut in the sagittal plane. It is distinguished from the other vertebrae by having a complete costal facet in the vertebral body and having a lower articular process with the cylindrical and convex articular face, oriented towards the sides. In addition, they do not present a costal facet in the transverse process and the spinous process is short and square, similar to that of the lumbar vertebrae.
