Viking age boat grave in Hillesøy, Norway

The remains of a viking age boat grave after excavation. Part of the grave was destroyed by road works some years ago and some of the human remains was discovered earlier this year. Tromsø Museum then excavated the remaining parts of the grave and discovered several partly preserved wooden details, such as an oar, wooden bowls, a metal spear with wooden shaft, glass- and amber beads.
