More model informationThis is knife was found at Belgjinøse, Jotunheimen, Norway and carbon dated to the viking age.
Note the drop shaped crossection of the grip as well as the tang from the blade that goes through the whole grip. At the end it is bent over creating a loop for a leather strap that there is a little piece still preserved. The grip is made of birch burl.
The overall shape of the blade shows that the knife have been resharpened multiple times and would probably have been quet a bit wider and longer.
