Viking Age Miniature Toy Boat

Photogrammetric model of a Viking Age miniature boat (SH1979-4.3059) from the Viking Museum Haithabu made from images taken on 03/18/2024 for inclusion in the Virtual Viking Longship Project.

This small carved wooden boat has the characteristic shape and central mast hole of Viking Age ship building techniques. It could have served as a child’s toy or simple model for boat builders to reference. Dimensions: 30 cm long and 8.4 cm wide with a height of 5.2 cm.
