Model of a Viking Age (750-1050 AD) comb made from bone with a basic pattern carved into it.
Combs is a very common type of find on Viking Age archaeological excavations. They were usually made of bone or antler and are found both in graves and settlement contexts. They seem to have been a common personal accessory and were often decorated, sometimes even with runic inscriptions.
The model was created using Blender and Substance Painter. The model is UV-mapped and has a single material.
The zip-file “Viking comb.zip” contains all the textures as png-files with a resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels (8 bits), as well as the model in the following file formats:
