More model informationA film about this carving is available at https://vimeo.com/rwlang/skipwith. This 10th century piece is built into the inside wall of the tower at St. Helen’s Church, Skipwith, North Yorkshire. It is a lively and confidently-made piece - many of the elements would not look put of place in a modern day graphic novel, and once you realise how many of the humans and beasts share their edge-lines, it becomes a uniquely cunning and impressive art-work. The theme is very probably Ragnarök.
