Game/VR/AR-ready low-poly model of a somewhat worn Viking-age shield. The model has 4K PBR-textures and is built to real-world scale (metric system).
Round wooden shields with metal bosses were widely used in central and northern Europe during a long period from the Roman Iron Age to at least the end of the Early Middle Ages (AD 200-1100). The wooden parts of the shields were relatively fragile and the edges were often strengthened with leather.
The model and PBR-textures are prepared for use with Unity and Unreal, but can easily be adapted for other uses. The model was created using Blender and Substance Painter, and it is UV-mapped with a single material.
The zip-file “Viking shield.zip” contains all the textures as png-files (8 bits), as well as the model in the following file formats:
FBX 7.4 (.fbx)
OBJ 3.0 (.obj and .mtl)
Collada 1.4.1 (.dae)
Blender 4.0.2 (.blend)
The zip-file also includes fbx-versions of the model and textures specially made for use with Unreal Engine and Unity.
