More model informationThe Villa Romana del Vergigno is a large rural villa dating between the late 2nd/early 1st centuries BC and the 4th/5th centuries AD, located in the Arno valley of northern Tuscany near Montelupo Fiorentino. In the summer of 2019 a series of stratigraphic units were excavated in Area 9000, located within a large depression that was likely filled with architectural debris and domestic objects from the villa between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. This model displays the various stratigraphic units that make up the fill of this depression, which can be organized into distinct chronological events. The most recent layers are found at the top, with the oldest layers (and the base of the depression itself) beneath.
