More model informationThe Roman rural site of Gries/Oberndorf a. d. Melk in Lower Austria is located on the left bank of the river Melk – geophysical surveys using magnetics and GPR (V. Lindinger/ARDIG) revealed archaeological structures that can be assigned to a Roman villa located in the hinterland of the limes /ripa and of the Roman city Aelium Cetium (today’s Sankt Pölten).
The model as an interactive, interpretative 3D general plan is based on the interpretation of the geophysical data and was generated using QGIS and Qgis2threejs.
The site serves as case study within the Area of Special Interest of PhD project ‘Roman Rural Landscapes in Noricum’
