Hi, I’m Alex. I started learning 3d modeling a little more than a year ago at the “IT Step Academy” in Kyiv, Ukraine, and this is my graduation project.
This is my first more less competent piece of work, and making it taught me a ton about modeling, texturing and rigging. It was my first attempt at animating a character too.
Let me introduce to you Vincent Eman. He’s a 26 year old member of an alien race (I went with a classic look), but he was born on Earth. That’s why you clearly can see an influence of earthly culture in his design. Also, he’s curently listening Englishman In NY, of course.
The concept of Vincent came from an idea of combining alien and skateboarding/hip-hop aesthetics. I was verry inspiered by old games with highly stylized character designs, like Jet Set Radio Future. Workflow was pretty simple: sculpting HP mesh in Zbrush, retopology and UV mapping in Maya, and texturing in Substance Painter. Then rigging with help of Advenced Skeleton, and animation.
