More model informationThis basaltic volcanic bomb displays many of the shape characteristics of volcanic ejecta. It has a smooth streamlined shape and vesicles. The rear end (left hand side in initial view) shows evidence of a long wispy tail that has been snapped off on landing. Its high density suggests it encloses a peridotite nodule. I am unsure of its origin, but it is likely from the Newer Volcanic Province of Victoria.
