VX 381 Fairey Firefly Aircraft wrecked 1956

This Royal Australian Navy aircraft crashed into Jevois Bay on 27 November 1956, after a mid air collision with another aircraft. This aircraft was located in 1983 in thirteen metres of water. Sitting on a silty bottom, the NSW Heritage Office obtained GPS coordinates for the wreck following a successful magnetometer survey in 1995.
