More model informationIn the 1930s an English historian called Nicholas Hammond from the University of Bristol visited the site and noted that “This would be a very suitable site for a walled walled town in south Epirus” (Hammond, 1967, p. 216). He dated this wall to between the 480s - 150s BC when the region was ruled by the Epirote League and the Chaonians becuase of the large blocks used in its construction.
An excivation in 2018 suggests that this wall might be newer in construction, but could be made from stone blocks from a much earlier wall.
This is a low quality version of the models used by the project for archaeological research. Higher quality versions are avalible on request.
