The “Smart Proximity Mine” laying system releases self-propelled smart bombs that can sustain themselves mid-air and independently maintain that position. It houses an internal guiding system for precision bomb placement as well as for mine mapping and remote detonation. The cartridges are fired in succession from a revolving magazine and feature a radar with a proximity “wake-up” subsystem in addition to dedicated propulsion engines. Thus equipped, the mines have the ability to reach their target once triggered, making them very effective in setting up a field of proximity defense.
