More model informationThe 238 ft wooden package freighter Wasaga was built in 1876 as the Wissahickon. It was renamed Wasaga in 1907 after being sold to the Collingwood Shipping Company. In 1910 while en route to Fort William with a cargo of farm machinery and miscellaneous supplies she sought shelter from a storm in Copper Habor. While safe in the harbor fire broke out in the cargo hold and the Wasaga burned to the waterline and sank. No crew were lost in the fire. All of the marine machinery and some of the cargo was later salvaged. Today it is a popular dive site in the protection of Copper Harbor. The model was created from 1,759 30-megapixel images shot by Andrew Goodman on a 30 minute DPV dive in September 2023.
